In the beginning, it was simply an idea.
The idea of trombonists Steven Greenall and Chris Fower to develop an instrument that is neither expensive nor heavy nor sensitive.

The idea that they needed to do something about shrinking numbers in brass bands. The idea that they wanted to make brass music more interesting again for children and young people. From this idea, the pBone® was born in the 2010s. The world's first fully functional trombone made of ABS plastic. Lighter, less sensitive, cheaper and more colourful than instruments made of metal.

Since then, Greenall and his team have been developing a constantly growing range of other plastic instruments for the pInstruments® family. And step by step they are realising their ideal of easy access to musical education.

In addition to the instruments, they are also working analogously on didactic concepts to bring the world of wind music closer to everyone. That, after all, was the idea.

pInstruments® claim to be absolutely not toys.
But with them, playing is more fun again, for children and young people as well as for adults.
